COMPUTEX TAIPEI is one of the few ICT tradeshows with continued growth (in scale, visitors, and exhibitors) in the face of the global economic downturn while some other tradeshows had to reduce their exhibition days and areas. 1,750 exhibitors have signed up for COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2010, using 4,700 booths-- an increase of 50 exhibitors and 205 booths from previous year. It is expected the show will attract a record-breaking 35,000+ international buyers this year. The platform that gathers the best partners, prices, concepts, and components generated business worth an estimated US$20bn last year
Major players annually head to COMPUTEX TAIPEI to launch their latest technologies and products, such as Intel, Acer, AMD, Asus, Microsoft and so on. Last summer ACER underscored the importance of this dynamic trend-discovery platform by using it to team up with Google to unveil the Android mobile phone; AMD launched the world’s first DirectX 11 graphics processor. And Asus unveiled its 11-inch Eee PC Seashell. Intel introduced Core i7. Microsoft announced the wide adoption of Window 7. To further meet the demand, “New Product Launch Sites” both at the TWTC NANGANG Exhibition Hall and Hall 1 will have dozens of product launches by the exhibitors to help visitors get hold of the latest simply at one spot.
2,000+ procurement meetings make a difference!
Match-making procurement meetings, more than 2,000 of them, are a core function at the annual show. In 2009’s show, these 1-on-1 meetings were exclusively arranged for top firms with annual sales exceeding US$10 mn, and generated business worth US$700 mn. This year’s show welcomes heavyweight buyers from across the globe with annual sales over US$50 mn to attend the match-making procurement meetings: annual sales exceeding US$22 bn is Alcatel-Lucent (Germany); annual sales exceeding US$2 bn are Best Buy (Canada), Future Shop (Canada), Newegg (Canada), Ingram (Canada), and Medion (Germany); annual sales exceeding US$1 bn are Siemens (Germany) and Pixmania (France).
